Ted the German Shepherd

Ted the German Shepherd

We needed help. Ted (or as I now need to refer to him as ”The Dog”) is a three year old GSD and very much dominated everything and anyone in our lives inside and outside the home. His behaviour was becoming worse and especially with visitors to the breaking point where he nipped one visitor on the bum as she as leaving - not cool! We had already begun to stop having people round and would dread someone knocking on the door. With a new baby in the house too, this could not be tolerated. So we contacted Sally.

After the first session with Sally we were amazed. She explained to us with the help of her two beautiful GSDs that there is no pack leader: leaving him confused and lost. He is making the decisions (leading the pack) because there’s no-one to show him. She taught us how to walk him on the lead rather than him walk us, deal with doors and leave him in a room and walk out the front door without him barking! Result!

We’ve got a lot of hard work to do from here and to deal with other areas of concern such as the barking at the neighbours, boundaries and behaviour in the car but we can’t wait for our next session with Sally to help continue building this new relationship between us and The Dog.
