Blaze the German Shepherd

Blaze the German Shepherd

Blaze is a medically retired prison dog who needed re-homing, perfectly trained, strong and obedient... great for a prison and an experienced owner! Sadly we were neither! Seven months later and we feel like the pariahs of our neighbourhood and find ourselves hiding behind parked cars to prevent him reacting to other dogs by growling and barking. He would drag us around for hours and we were finding it quite stressful and worrying! We tried other trainers who told us to distract him with treats which did not work and his behaviour became worse when he started reacting to dogs off lead and damaging walls in the house with his need to jump up and bark at the windows or the front door.

We needed HELP!

I saw Sally's website and told my partner about it, "there's no way this woman will sort our dog out" was the response I got but thankfully he gave in! Imagine our surprise when a few hours into Sally's visit we were walking our dog under control up and down the street!

"Wait until another dog comes along" we said, knowing that the dog will react from miles away. "Watch this" says Sally and we were shocked to be walking side-by-side with Sally's dog and no reaction! We were flabbergasted! Sally has taught us that we were letting the dog control us and that he was not a baby we needed to pander to.

We have been reclaiming our home and making Blaze work for us, he already seems calmer and we are hopeful that we can all look forward to a brighter future keeping Blaze safe and calm. Blaze IS a brilliantly trained dog, he just needed owners who he can trust which we are willing to work to achieve.

Seeing is believing! Thanks Sally
