Des the Pug

Des the Pug

I asked Sally for help with my 14 month old pug, Des. I have owned Des for four months and he has become increasingly dominant over me and was beginning to show aggressive behaviour to other people and their dogs.

On first meeting Sally, Des barked at her for over 20 minutes. He attempted to bite her and tried to sneak up behind her when she didn't back down. Within the hour he had calmed down and started to respond to the signals Sally gave him.

He had always seemed a worried little dog but after a very short time with Sally I could see that he was completely comfortable with her as pack leader. He seemed to relax fully for the first time ever. He even went to lie on his bed for the first time ever!

Before meeting Sally I had begun to seriously regret taking on this little dog. I dreaded walking him, fearing how he would react if we met another dog but by the end of the first session he was walking calmly next to me without pulling or being distracted by people or dogs.

I am so grateful to Sally for her help today and am very much looking forward to putting into practice all that we have learned today.
