Sally came to see Libby for the first time this week and immediately addressed the problems Libby had in a very calm and controlled manner. Libby was almost instantly reacting to Sally and realising that this was someone who understood her and was taking control. It was quite remarkable to see the difference. Also Sally was brilliant in making me feel more confident and to make me realise that I have to start changing my attitude to Libby and as soon as I can do that Libby will be a lot calmer and less stressed.
My main problem was Libby pulling me on the lead so we took her out. Sally changed the lead I was using and also put her on a check collar. I will be honest as I have not used, or wanted to use, one of these collars but in Sally's hands I had no worries, in fact after only a few minutes Sally had Libby trotting along as happy as could be. Yes she corrected her a few times at first but mainly Sally was changing direction and having contact with the dog so Libby wasn't just walking in a straight line and at no time did I see Libby stressed, in fact as has been said before Libby just wanted to be with Sally. Sally also removed the check collar and had Libby walking on a normal collar and lead with the same reaction no pulling.
Sally also involves the owner in every aspect of the dogs training so I took Libby, and after getting it wrong at first, to my delight Libby was happily walking and not pulling my arm off! I have a long way to go to get the technique completely right but as I have said Sally gives you that confidence.
I am looking forward to our follow up session next week and of course the main thing is that I do the work with Libby and continue Sally's methods, which is going to take time but I intend to succeed.
I am very pleased that I found Sally and it is true she is really training the owner, as the dog very soon picks up that Sally understands them, and at long last is someone who is going to make their owners have the confidence and knowledge to make their dogs have a wonderful life. Actually you only have to meet her own two wonderful German Shepherds to realise how much she loves them and how much they would do anything for her.
Amazing lady. I have been completely honest in this write up and hope it proves helpful to other potential clients.

UPDATE: I was very pleased to see Sally again - because of various circumstances it had been impossible to carry on with Libby's training. In that space of time Libby had taken over pack control - I had not been following a routine, and because she had had an operation, I had been letting her get away with things. As soon as Sally arrived she immediately could see the problems and, with her empathy with Libby, soon sorted out a few issues in the home. We then went on to walking her - to see Libby walking along so beautifully with Sally and seeing the respect that the dog has for her is magical to watch. I feel that Sally's visit has given me back the confidence to go forward again and with Sally's help have a much happier and relaxed dog so a much better life for both of us. I cannot recommend Sally enough her understanding - her immediate reaction to problems is phenomenal.
