Charlie the Parson Jack Russell

Charlie the Parson Jack Russell

This is Charlie, he is a two year old Parsons Jack Russell. I had always believed him to be a shy and insecure little dog, our problems only became apparent when we moved house a year ago, he began barking when people passed the house and lunging at other dogs on our walks. Problems worsened when building work began, he became nervous when the builders arrived and started to follow me all around the house, I thought he felt safer with me but he felt he needed to protect me. This led to him becoming anxious whenever I left him, he would pace, shake and pant. It was very distressing for us both.

Sally was recommended to us by our daughter who owns Charlie's brother, Bob.

When Sally arrived Charlie was shut in the lounge while we discussed our problems. Charlie was barking and scratching at the door. When Sally went to meet him she walked calmly into the room but only approached him when he calmed down and became submissive, it took about 15 minutes but he knew that this lady was very much in charge!

When she brought him into the kitchen he was already a different little dog, he lay at her feet and I honestly believe he'd have followed her anywhere! We did training in the house and then took him for a walk with Sally, I couldn't believe it when he completely ignored a Husky that was barking quite aggressively at him.

Our first meeting with Sally was just over a week ago and after following her expert advice he is a much happier little dog. It is a pleasure to walk him, he is improving all the time and I am surprised how quickly he is learning now that I know how to communicate with him!

His eating has also improved greatly, he's no longer so fussy! On Sally's advice we have started to use a crate which he absolutely loves, although we are leaving the door open for him at the moment I'm confident that in time I will be able to close it making him feel safe when I'm not around. Contacting Sally was the best thing I've ever done for Charlie and I would recommend her to anyone having problems. Thank you Sally for your continuing support and advice via emails and phone calls, we would be lost without you!
