Hello - I'm Linda a retired Health Visitor and Nurse Lecturer.
We have a two and a half year old Labradoodle who is quite adorable - BUT...! She is a challenge. She is very excitable, wilfull, has a mind of her own and no sooner than a walk was started she would take off into the distance - often out of sight - chasing seagulls, ducks, waves, smells, leaves, the wind, anything! She would be under gates, into woods or lakes or rivers. I didn't know where she was, what she was doing or who might steal her. She would return 'eventually' when she felt like it.
I had become complacent and let her have her own way - and this is where she led me.
I was stressed, anxious, tired and desperate. I had tried various 'training' methods but with little success.
Then I found Sally. I could hardly believe it - the first time Sally came to our home our lives and our dog's life changed. Sally's quiet assertive manner and behaviour and using very few words had our dog lying quietly on the floor.
Sally demonstrated that our dog can be rescued, but moreso, I can be also. Sally is training me really, not the dog.
Our home has now been returned to us. The place is quiet and calm and I am more relaxed and no longer stressed and worried.
OK - So we are not off lead yet, but there has been such an amazing change in such a short time that I feel more confident and can see light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you Sally.
Linda
